- The second day of the conference began investigating #Gas #Energy at the Forefront of Social #Innovation. This engaging discussion delved into #environmental, #social and #governance (#ESG). Highlighting the positive impacts which have been made by partnerships between Canadian energy companies and Indigenous Communities #pioneering socially innovative models for energy project #development, creating #value for #communities and #investors alike.

- The Global Spotlight Session – #Innovation and #Affordability began with our moderator Tilak K. Doshi engaging with our wonderful panelists Damjan Krnjevic Miskovic, Khaled Abubakr, Luz Stella Murgas Maya and Khairulanwar Zakaria discussing the #challenges and #opportunities within the gas industry from their various global viewpoints ⭐. Reinforcing that there won’t be a single method for #decarbonisation within any sector and that while #mitigation continues to receive the majority of #climate #finance, #adaptation must greater funding going forward.
- Our third session #Emerging #Leaders – Regional Perspective On #Innovation. Provided the opportunity to hear from the next #generation of industry leaders, from around the world addressing the key #regional #priorities that they are focused on.
- The panel discussed a wide variety of topics including #regulation and #policy challenges, the role of big #data in the industry, #renewable gases, #hydrogen and #CCUS. As well as finishing on a discussion around the negative views around the industry and its impacts on young professionals entering the sector.

- The Leadership Dialogue – Innovation to Evolve Gas Systems was moderated by our own Secretary General Mel ( Menelaos) Ydreos, with an insightful and enthralling conversation with Paula Gant. Diving into the complexity of energy systems and the major role they will continue to play, with three major requirements for the industry being greater investment in low carbon molecules, future proofing infrastructure and the prioritisation of turning CO2 emissions into value.
- The dialogue finished with Paula reminding the delegation to ignore the noise around the industry and to focus on what we’re trying to accomplish, which is how we improve human lives.
This brought an end to an excellent second day at #IGRC2024.
