Wholesale Gas Price Survey 2020 - Wholesale Prices

In 2019, the highest natural gas prices were observed across the Asian markets, such as Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, followed by China and Brazil. Mid-range prices were seen across a mix of countries from Europe, and Asia Pacific, where regulated tariffs had recently increased.

At the lower end, Russia, the USA, and Middle Eastern countries recorded significantly lower prices — with Russia’s drop driven by past rouble depreciation. The lowest prices were in Turkmenistan, Algeria, and Venezuela, where strong regulation kept prices below production and transport costs.
