IGU’s new monthly Gas Policy Tracker maps the most significant national and supranational Gas policy developments across all regions. It covers liberalisation and market reform, security of supply, methane and emissions mitigation, and support for low-emission gases. This first edition covers October 2026, with updates to follow every month.

Methane regulation led October’s activity. The European Parliament backed a three-year delay to the EU’s import requirements, while the US EPA proposed changes to its 2024 methane standards. Australia also introduced legislation which would reserve up to 20% of LNG exports for domestic buyers.
